Grants And Donations Policy
South Hykeham Parish Council has identified its objective in relation to Grants and Donations to financially support community organisations within the village and other organisations that provide valuable advice and life saving support to South Hykeham Parishioners.
The policies set out within this document are:-
• To financially support community organisations, particularly where there is a quantifiable benefit to the residents or the village’s facilities.
• To financially support other County wide organisations who provide valuable and essential service and guidance to parishioners of South Hykeham and who rely on charitable donations in order to provide this support to residents.
• To annually review the Grants and Donations budget, to ensure that adequate provision is made.
• To annually review the criteria for awarding grants to community and other County wide organisations that rely on charitable donations to carry out their work in supporting Parish residents.
• To publicise the availability of the funding in the Grants and Donations budget.
• To explain clearly the criteria for valid applications in order to avoid invalid requests.
• The publication on an annual basis of those groups which have been grant-aided, in order to encourage more applications
• The Parish Council has adopted an Equal Opportunities Policy and as such will give equal consideration to all valid applications from qualifying organisations.
The availability of funding for Grants and Donations will be advertised on the Parish Council website and village noticeboards.
Applicants will be given full details of the guidelines/criteria for applications, the criteria on which grant awards are based, and a copy of the application form for use by applicants. Applications should be made to the Parish Council at the address below.
Objectives
• To allow small groups the opportunity to bid for money to assist them in their work.
• To fund groups that would otherwise have limited finances.
• To assist community groups who are encountering financial difficulties.
• To help new groups setting up.
• To assist existing organisations that benefit the community to develop.
• To assist new organisations to become established and to ensure their continued survival.
• To help provide support to county wide organisations that rely on charitable donations in order to provide a valuable and essential service which benefits the residents of South Hykeham Parish.
Grants and Donations Criteria
The Parish Council regularly reviews the criteria for awarding grants to community and County wide organisations and the grants and donations budget will be reviewed annually.
Special consideration to the financial support of new community organisations that add to the quality of life of residents will be given.
Application Notes 2023/24
Applications will be considered at the next council meeting following receipt of the application.
Financial support may be offered to community organisations particularly where there is a quantifiable benefit to the residents or the village’s facilities.

Grants will be awarded throughout the year subject to council having considered the merits of the application.
Proof of expenditure should be made available to the Parish Council to ensure that the grant has been spent in accordance with the description of the project given at the time of the application.
The Parish Council has adopted an Equal Opportunities Policy and as such will give equal consideration to all valid applications from qualifying organisations.
